ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa apunai naae laae sarab sookh prabh tumaree rajaae | rahaau |
Bestowing Your Mercy, God, You attach us to Your Name; all peace comes by Your Will. ||Pause||
ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
sang hovat kau jaanat door |
The Lord is Ever-present; one who deems Him to be far away,
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਰਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
so jan marataa nit nit jhoor |2|
Dies again and again, repenting. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
jin sabh kichh deea tis chitavat naeh |
The mortals do not remember the One, who has given them everything.
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
mahaa bikhiaa meh din rain jaeh |3|
Engrossed in such terrible corruption, their days and nights waste away. ||3||
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਏਕ ॥
kahu naanak prabh simarahu ek |
Says Nanak, meditate in remembrance of the One Lord God.
ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੩॥੯੭॥

Salvation is obtained, in the Shelter of the Perfect Guru. ||4||3||97||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਹਰਿਆ ॥
naam japat man tan sabh hariaa |
Meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body are totally rejuvenated.
ਕਲਮਲ ਦੋਖ ਸਗਲ ਪਰਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
kalamal dokh sagal parahariaa |1|
All sins and sorrows are washed away. ||1||
ਸੋਈ ਦਿਵਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
soee divas bhalaa mere bhaaee |
How blessed is that day, O my Siblings of Destiny,
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har gun gaae param gat paaee | rahaau |
when the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung, and the supreme status is obtained. ||Pause||
ਸਾਧ ਜਨਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਜੇ ਪੈਰ ॥
saadh janaa ke pooje pair |
Worshipping the feet of the Holy Saints,
ਮਿਟੇ ਉਪਦ੍ਰਹ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਰ ॥੨॥
mitte upadrah man te bair |2|
troubles and hatred are eliminated from the mind. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਝਗਰੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
gur poore mil jhagar chukaaeaa |
Meeting with the Perfect Guru, conflict is ended,
ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਸਭਿ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
panch doot sabh vasagat aaeaa |3|
and the five demons are totally subdued. ||3||
ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
jis man vasiaa har kaa naam |
One whose mind is filled with the Name of the Lord,
ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਊਪਰਿ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੪॥੪॥੯੮॥
naanak tis aoopar kurabaan |4|4|98|
O Nanak - I am a sacrifice to him. ||4||4||98||

ਗਾਵਿ ਲੇਹਿ ਤੂ ਗਾਵਨਹਾਰੇ ॥
gaav lehi too gaavanahaare |
O singer, sing of the One,
ਜੀਅ ਪਿੰਡ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੇ ॥
jeea pindd ke praan adhaare |
who is the Support of the soul, the body and the breath of life.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥
jaa kee sevaa sarab sukh paaveh |
Serving Him, all peace is obtained.
ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਹਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਜਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
avar kaahoo peh bahurr na jaaveh |1|
You shall no longer go to any other. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਅਨੰਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਜਾਪੀਐ ॥
sadaa anand anandee saahib gun nidhaan nit nit jaapeeai |
My Blissful Lord Master is forever in bliss; meditate continually and forever, on the Lord, the treasure of excellence.
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸੀਐ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
balihaaree tis sant piaare jis prasaad prabh man vaaseeai | rahaau |
I am a sacrifice to the Beloved Saints; by their kind favor, God comes to dwell in the mind. ||Pause||
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਿਖੂਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jaa kaa daan nikhoottai naahee |
His gifts are never exhausted.
ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਭ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥
bhalee bhaat sabh sehaj samaahee |
In His subtle way, He easily absorbs all.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਖਸ ਨ ਮੇਟੈ ਕੋਈ ॥
jaa kee bakhas na mettai koee |
His benevolence cannot be erased.
ਮਨਿ ਵਾਸਾਈਐ ਸਾਚਾ ਸੋਈ ॥੨॥
man vaasaaeeai saachaa soee |2|
So enshrine that True Lord within your mind. ||2||
ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ॥
sagal samagree grih jaa kai pooran |
His house is filled with all sorts of articles;
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦੂਖ ਨ ਝੂਰਨ ॥
prabh ke sevak dookh na jhooran |
God's servants never suffer pain.
ਓਟਿ ਗਹੀ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ott gahee nirbhau pad paaeeai |
Holding to His Support, the state of fearless dignity is obtained.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸੋ ਗੁਨ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
saas saas so gun nidh gaaeeai |3|
With each and every breath, sing of the Lord, the treasure of excellence. ||3||
ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਈਐ ॥
door na hoee katahoo jaaeeai |
He is not far from us, wherever we go.
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
nadar kare taa har har paaeeai |
When He shows His Mercy, we obtain the Lord, Har, Har.
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਕਰੀ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
aradaas karee poore gur paas |
I offer this prayer to the Perfect Guru.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮੰਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੫॥੯੯॥
naanak mangai har dhan raas |4|5|99|
Nanak begs for the treasure of the Lord's Name. ||4||5||99||

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਤਨ ਕਾ ਦੂਖ ॥
prathame mittiaa tan kaa dookh |
First, the pains of the body vanish;
ਮਨ ਸਗਲ ਕਉ ਹੋਆ ਸੂਖੁ ॥
man sagal kau hoaa sookh |
then, the mind becomes totally peaceful.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਦੀਨੋ ਨਾਉ ॥
kar kirapaa gur deeno naau |
In His Mercy, the Guru bestows the Lord's Name.
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੧॥
bal bal tis satigur kau jaau |1|
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to that True Guru. ||1||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
gur pooraa paaeo mere bhaaee |
I have obtained the Perfect Guru, O my Siblings of Destiny.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rog sog sabh dookh binaase satigur kee saranaaee | rahaau |
All illness, sorrows and sufferings are dispelled, in the Sanctuary of the True Guru. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
gur ke charan hiradai vasaae |
The feet of the Guru abide within my heart;
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਤਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ॥
man chintat sagale fal paae |
I have received all the fruits of my heart's desires.
ਅਗਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸਭ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥
agan bujhee sabh hoee saant |
The fire is extinguished, and I am totally peaceful.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੨॥
kar kirapaa gur keenee daat |2|
Showering His Mercy, the Guru has given this gift. ||2||
ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਨੋ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
nithaave kau gur deeno thaan |
The Guru has given shelter to the shelterless.
ਨਿਮਾਨੇ ਕਉ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
nimaane kau gur keeno maan |
The Guru has given honor to the dishonored.
ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟਿ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
bandhan kaatt sevak kar raakhe |
Shattering his bonds, the Guru has saved His servant.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ਰਸਨਾ ਚਾਖੇ ॥੩॥
amrit baanee rasanaa chaakhe |3|
I taste with my tongue the Ambrosial Bani of His Word. ||3||
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪੂਜ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨਾ ॥
vaddai bhaag pooj gur charanaa |
By great good fortune, I worship the Guru's feet.
ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਪਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
sagal tiaag paaee prabh saranaa |
Forsaking everything, I have obtained God's Sanctuary.
