ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਆਰਾਧੇ ॥

I worship and adore the Perfect Guru.
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧੇ ॥
kaaraj sagale saadhe |
All my affairs have been resolved.
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥
sagal manorath poore |
All desires have been fulfilled.
ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥੧॥

The unstruck melody of the sound current resounds. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
santahu raam japat sukh paaeaa |
O Saints, meditating on the Lord, we obtain peace.
ਸੰਤ ਅਸਥਾਨਿ ਬਸੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sant asathaan base sukh sahaje sagale dookh mittaaeaa |1| rahaau |
In the home of the Saints, celestial peace is pervading; all pain and suffering is dispelled. ||1||Pause||

ਭੂਖੇ ਖਾਵਤ ਲਾਜ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
bhookhe khaavat laaj na aavai |
The hungry man is not ashamed to eat.
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
tiau har jan har gun gaavai |1|
Just so, the humble servant of the Lord sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਅਪਨੇ ਕਾਜ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਅਲਕਾਈਐ ॥
apane kaaj kau kiau alakaaeeai |
Why are you so lazy in your own affairs?
ਜਿਤੁ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੁਖੁ ਊਜਲ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jit simaran daragah mukh aoojal sadaa sadaa sukh paaeeai |1| rahaau |
Remembering Him in meditation, your face shall be radiant in the Court of the Lord; you shall find peace, forever and ever. ||1||Pause||
ਜਿਉ ਕਾਮੀ ਕਾਮਿ ਲੁਭਾਵੈ ॥
jiau kaamee kaam lubhaavai |
Just as the lustful man is enticed by lust,
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
tiau har daas har jas bhaavai |2|
so is the Lord's slave pleased with the Lord's Praise. ||2||
ਜਿਉ ਮਾਤਾ ਬਾਲਿ ਲਪਟਾਵੈ ॥
jiau maataa baal lapattaavai |
Just as the mother holds her baby close,
ਤਿਉ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
tiau giaanee naam kamaavai |3|
so does the spiritual person cherish the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
gur poore te paavai |
This is obtained from the Perfect Guru.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੮੩॥

ਸੁਖ ਸਾਂਦਿ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
sukh saand ghar aaeaa |
Safe and sound, I have returned home.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਮੁਖਿ ਛਾਇਆ ॥
nindak kai mukh chhaaeaa |
The slanderer's face is blackened with ashes.
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ ॥
poorai gur pahiraaeaa |
The Perfect Guru has dressed in robes of honor.
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਦੁਖ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
binase dukh sabaaeaa |1|
All my pains and sufferings are over. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸਾਚੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
santahu saache kee vaddiaaee |
O Saints, this is the glorious greatness of the True Lord.
ਜਿਨਿ ਅਚਰਜ ਸੋਭ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jin acharaj sobh banaaee |1| rahaau |
He has created such wonder and glory! ||1||Pause||
ਬੋਲੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ॥
bole saahib kai bhaanai |
I speak according to the Will of my Lord and Master.
ਦਾਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
daas baanee braham vakhaanai |
God's slave chants the Word of His Bani.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
naanak prabh sukhadaaee |
O Nanak, God is the Giver of peace.
ਜਿਨਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੦॥੮੪॥

He has created the perfect creation. ||2||20||84||

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਰਿਦੈ ਧਿਆਏ ॥

Within my heart, I meditate on God.
ਘਰਿ ਸਹੀ ਸਲਾਮਤਿ ਆਏ ॥
ghar sahee salaamat aae |
I have returned home safe and sound.
ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਸੰਸਾਰੇ ॥
santokh bheaa sansaare |
The world has become contented.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਲੈ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
gur poorai lai taare |1|
The Perfect Guru has saved me. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
santahu prabh meraa sadaa deaalaa |
O Saints, my God is forever merciful.
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਕੀ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਗਣਈ ਰਾਖੈ ਬਾਲ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
apane bhagat kee ganat na ganee raakhai baal gupaalaa |1| rahaau |
The Lord of the world does not call His devotee to account; He protects His children. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
har naam ridai ur dhaare |
I have enshrined the Lord's Name within my heart.
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਭੇ ਥੋਕ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
tin sabhe thok savaare |
He has resolved all my affairs.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਤੁਸਿ ਦੀਆ ॥
gur poorai tus deea |
The Perfect Guru was pleased, and blessed me,
ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਥੀਆ ॥੨॥੨੧॥੮੫॥
fir naanak dookh na theea |2|21|85|
and now, Nanak shall never again suffer pain. ||2||21||85||

ਹਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥
har man tan vasiaa soee |
The Lord abides in my mind and body.
ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
jai jai kaar kare sabh koee |
Everyone congratulates me on my victory.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
gur poore kee vaddiaaee |
This is the glorious greatness of the Perfect Guru.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
taa kee keemat kahee na jaaee |1|
His value cannot be described. ||1||
ਹਉ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੁ ਜਾਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
hau kurabaan jaaee tere naavai |
I am a sacrifice to Your Name.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਬਖਸਿ ਲੈਹਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis no bakhas laihi mere piaare so jas teraa gaavai |1| rahaau |
He alone, whom You have forgiven, O my Beloved, sings Your Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਤੂੰ ਭਾਰੋ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
toon bhaaro suaamee meraa |
You are my Great Lord and Master.
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਭਰਵਾਸਾ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
santaan bharavaasaa teraa |
You are the support of the Saints.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
naanak prabh saranaaee |
Nanak has entered God's Sanctuary.
ਮੁਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੈ ਛਾਈ ॥੨॥੨੨॥੮੬॥
mukh nindak kai chhaaee |2|22|86|
The faces of the slanderers are blackened with ashes. ||2||22||86||

ਆਗੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤਾ ॥
aagai sukh mere meetaa |
Peace in this world, O my friends,
ਪਾਛੇ ਆਨਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਤਾ ॥
paachhe aanad prabh keetaa |
and bliss in the world hereafter - God has given me this.
ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰਿ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥
paramesur banat banaaee |
The Transcendent Lord has arranged these arrangements;
ਫਿਰਿ ਡੋਲਤ ਕਤਹੂ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
fir ddolat katahoo naahee |1|
I shall never waver again. ||1||
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
saache saahib siau man maaniaa |
My mind is pleased with the True Lord Master.
ਹਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har sarab nirantar jaaniaa |1| rahaau |
I know the Lord to be pervading all. ||1||Pause||
