ਸੋ ਰਨ ਹੇਰਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰਪਾਨੀ ॥
so ran her adhik ddarapaanee |
Salwan’s principal Rani was dreaded markedly.
ਪੂਜਿ ਗੌਰਜਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਮਨਾਈ ॥
pooj gauarajaa taeh manaaee |
ਭੂਤ ਭਵਿਖ੍ਯ ਵਹੈ ਠਹਿਰਾਈ ॥੨੧॥
bhoot bhavikhay vahai tthahiraaee |21|
She used to pray to the goddess Gorja, appraising her as her future saviour.(21)
ਤਬ ਤਿਹ ਦਰਸੁ ਗੌਰਜਾ ਦਯੋ ॥
tab tih daras gauarajaa dayo |
ਉਠਿ ਰਾਣੀ ਤਿਹ ਸੀਸ ਝੁਕਯੋ ॥
autth raanee tih sees jhukayo |
Gorja appeared and the Rani came forward and paid her obeisance.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਜਗ ਮਾਤ ਮਨਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat jag maat manaayo |
ਜੀਤ ਹੋਇ ਹਮਰੀ ਬਰੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੨੨॥
jeet hoe hamaree bar paayo |22|
She performed various penances and begged for her victory.(22)

Salwan and Bikrim entered the combat,
ਆਠ ਜਾਮ ਆਹਵ ਬਿਖੈ ਜੁਧ ਭਯੋ ਬਿਕਰਾਰ ॥੨੩॥
aatth jaam aahav bikhai judh bhayo bikaraar |23|
And for eight hours there was horrific fighting.(23)

ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚੌਪਿ ਰਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥
chitr bachitr chauap ran kariyo |
The ruler of Sialkote became furious and, engulfed in rage, eventuated the skirmishes.
ਤਨਿ ਧਨ ਬਾਨ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਸੇ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
tan dhan baan bajr se maare |
ਰਾਵ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਾ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੨੪॥
raav bikramaa svarag sidhaare |24|
Stretching tightly he threw Braj arrows, which made Raja Bikrim to head for the domain of death.(24)

ਜੀਤਿ ਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਾਜੀਤ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਹਰਖ ਬਢਾਇ ॥
jeet bikramaajeet ko chit mai harakh badtaae |
By winning over Bikrimajeet he felt relieved.
ਅੰਤਹ ਪੁਰ ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਅਧਿਕ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੨੫॥
antah pur aavat bhayo adhik hridai sukh paae |25|
And, at last, he felt blissful.(25)

ਜਬ ਰਾਜਾ ਅੰਤਹ ਪੁਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
jab raajaa antah pur aayo |
ਸੁਨ੍ਯੋ ਜੁ ਬਰੁ ਰਾਨੀ ਜੂ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
sunayo ju bar raanee joo paayo |
When the Raja returned, he came to know the boon, which the Rani had been granted.
ਮੋ ਕੌ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਜੀਤਿ ਇਹ ਦਈ ॥
mo kau kahiyo jeet ih dee |
ਤਾ ਸੌ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥੨੬॥
taa sau preet adhik hvai gee |26|
He thought, ‘she has made the victory possible, therefore, I must love her more.’(26)

ਹਮਰੇ ਹਿਤ ਇਹ ਰਾਨਿਯੈ ਲੀਨੀ ਗੌਰਿ ਮਨਾਇ ॥

ਰੀਝਿ ਭਗੌਤੀ ਬਰੁ ਦਯੋ ਤਬ ਹਮ ਜਿਤੇ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੨੭॥
reejh bhagauatee bar dayo tab ham jite banaae |27|

ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੈ ਤਵਨ ਕੇ ਡੇਰੈ ॥
nis din rahai tavan ke dderai |
ਔਰ ਰਾਨਿਯਨ ਓਰ ਨ ਹੇਰੈ ॥
aauar raaniyan or na herai |
Every day Raja started to stay with her and abandoned going to other Ranis.
ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਸ ਰਹਤੇ ਜਬ ਭਯੋ ॥
bahut maas rahate jab bhayo |
ਦੇਬੀ ਪੂਤ ਏਕ ਤਿਹ ਦਯੋ ॥੨੮॥
debee poot ek tih dayo |28|
When many months have gone by the goddess granted him a son.(28)
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ਰਿਸਾਲੂ ਰਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
taa ko naam risaaloo raakhiyo |
ਐਸੋ ਬਚਨ ਚੰਡਿਕਾ ਭਾਖਿਯੋ ॥
aiso bachan chanddikaa bhaakhiyo |
Be was given the name of Rasaloo and the goddess Chandika willed,
ਮਹਾ ਜਤੀ ਜੋਧਾ ਇਹ ਹੋਈ ॥
mahaa jatee jodhaa ih hoee |
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਔਰ ਨ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਕੋਈ ॥੨੯॥
jaa sam aauar na jag mai koee |29|
‘Be will be a great celibate and gallant person and there will not be any like him in the world.’(29)
ਜ੍ਯੋ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਬਢਤ ਰਿਸਾਲੂ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
jayo jayo badtat risaaloo jaavai |
ਨਿਤਿ ਅਖੇਟ ਕਰੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਘਾਵੈ ॥
nit akhett karai mrig ghaavai |
As he grew, he commenced going on hunting and killing many deer.
ਸੈਰ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਨ ਕੋ ਕਰੈ ॥
sair des desan ko karai |
ਕਿਸਹੂ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇ ਨਹਿ ਡਰੈ ॥੩੦॥
kisahoo raajaa te neh ddarai |30|
He travelled all the countries and never dreaded any body.(30)
ਖੇਲ ਅਖੇਟਕ ਜਬ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਵੈ ॥
khel akhettak jab grih aavai |
ਤਬ ਚੌਪਰ ਕੀ ਖੇਲਿ ਮਚਾਵੈ ॥
tab chauapar kee khel machaavai |
Coming back after hunting, he would sit down to play chess.
ਜੀਤਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਰਾਜਨ ਕੌ ਲੇਈ ॥
jeet cheet raajan kau leee |
ਛੋਰਿ ਛੋਰਿ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਈ ॥੩੧॥
chhor chhor chitr kar deee |31|
He would win over many other Rajas and feel delighted.(31)
ਏਕ ਡੋਮ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
ek ddom taa ko grih aayo |
ਖੇਲ ਰਿਸਾਲੂ ਸਾਥ ਰਚਾਯੋ ॥
khel risaaloo saath rachaayo |
Once a bard came to him and started to play with Rasaloo.
ਪਗਿਯਾ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਜਬ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
